We are a multi-cultural, interdenominational community of believers that are passionate about being authentic followers of Christ. We are a balance of relevant teaching and contemporary worship rooted in the heritage of traditional beliefs to a Hebraic understanding.
WE ARE DIVERSE
We come from different religious backgrounds with different tastes and preferences. Much like the early church, we have people of every walk of life unified under one faith in the Almighty.
WE ARE PASSIONATE
We love to worship in both contemporary and traditional ways. Our passion for God is rooted in genuine biblical faith. We are passionate to learn the ways of the ancient fathers of faith, from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our desire is to walk out this passionate faith with joy and commitment.
WE ARE COMMITTED
We’ve never been more committed to doing the true work of the Kingdom of God. The work of the kingdom is to Love God with our whole heart, mind and soul, and to love others by our actions.
In 1999, Calvary Christian Fellowship began in the living room of Pastors Rodney and Melanie Bryant in Huffman, Texas. As a Houston Police Officer at the time, Pastor Rodney worked the grave yard shift in north Houston. Over pizza, chicken and hundreds of late night fellowships, Calvary eventually outgrew that small living room and in late 2000 Calvary rented it’s first space at a hotel near Houston Intercontinental Airport. For the next year and a half they met there, in a space that smelled of stale beer and peanuts! God continued to grow the church.
In 2001, Calvary purchased it’s first property; a 3500 sqft building just behind the KSBJ building on Wilson Road in Humble. After a renovation and addition was built in 2003, the now 5000 sqft building held over 150 people every Sunday. After being forced to go to two services later that year, Calvary was literally overwhelmed by an opportunity to buy a building on F.M. 1960 in Atascocita.
After only 16 months in Atascocita, God again opened the door for increase! Pastor Lee Short of Family Life Church in Kingwood felt the call of God to return to the mission field, and asked Calvary Christian Fellowship to merge with his congregation and take the 53 acre facility on Northpark Drive. Shortly there after, Nuevo Pacto, a Spanish church from Humble, has merged with us giving us the capability of ministering to Spanish-speaking people in the area.
Since our move to the Northpark Campus, many renovations and changes have been made and are continuing to take place in our new facility. Calvary has grown from it’s first service of 7 people to a multi-service congregation that averages a weekly attendance of close to 300.
